Catherine was born in London, England and grew up in Nigeria and Switzerland. She graduated from Durham university with a BA in Middle Eastern History and Arabic and went on to the University of London to do a Master’s in African History and Politics. After traveling the world she decided she wanted to be a journalist and went back to study Broadcast Journalism winning a BBC scholarship. After graduating she worked as a producer for BBC London news before deciding to put her degrees to good use and cover international news. She left her London life behind and got a job as a producer at Aljazeera English news based in the small Arab Emirate of Qatar. She spent two years covering news with a focus on The Middle East and Africa. She finally decided the documentary world was were she wanted to be and made to big move to New York and SVA. She hopes this will be the last time she goes to university!
