Born in Eastern Ukraine, Oxana Onipko is part of the last generation to grow up in the Soviet Union. After beginning her career in finance and banking, Oxana turned her attention to documentary and news photography. She has worked for The Moscow Times, Agence France-Presse, and Reportage by Getty Images. She has completed long-term photo projects on migrants in Moscow and Islam in Russia. She is currently interested in women's issues and domestic violence.
