Megan Orr

With nine years of experience as a documentary filmmaker, I realize that I aim to produce media content that inspires change, stimulates discussion, tickles the imagination, and empowers people to live and own up to their dreams and potential. In May of 2016 I earned an MFA in Social Documentary Filmmaking from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, New York. In 2009, I graduated with Honors and received a BA in Film & Digital Media and Sociology from the University of California in Santa Cruz. I have used my film and digital media skills for a variety of purposes including documentaries, advertising, advocacy and news. Through these experiences I have fostered many skills relevant to documentary filmmaking and have learned how to be a compassionate interviewer, an effective producer, and a creative editor.
