Peter Chelkowski, Cinematographer

Peter works as a director, producer and cinematographer. He spent most of 2015-16 traveling the globe shooting a new documentary series for Robert Redford, Mark Benjamin and Paul Allen about Crimes against the ocean, premiering this fall on Animal Planet. When not on the sea, he directs commercials as Weiss&Ski. Within the last years he shot commercials for Coca-Cola, Puma, Lancaster and Abercrombie & Fitch. He always incorporates the documentary aesthetic in his fiction work. His films have screened at Silverdocs, Taos Talking Pictures, the Whitney Biennial, Berlin and the American Film Institute. He earned his MFA in film directing from NYU/Tisch school the Arts in 2001.
