Anam Khan is a Fulbright scholar from Karachi. Currently, she is doing her M.F.A in Social Documentary Filmmaking from School of Visual Arts. She completed her B.A with distinction in Communication Design from Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi. She has done internships in production houses, made documentaries for non-profit organizations and has experience of advertising and designing.
Almost all of her work, whether film or design projects have an underlying theme of social responsibility. Her documentary on ‘Madrassah Students’ won ‘Best Student Documentary’ awards in various national film festivals in Pakistan. She is award recipient of SVA Alumni Scholarship Award 2012.
She does not simply want to make films and documentaries that people watch, but films that they remember for a long time, films that tell stories with universal themes, films that surpass borders and boundaries, films that make one think and question. But most importantly films that raise hope and point to new directions and solutions.
